What's afloat is the rest of me
So now I'm convinced I am not me
What's afloat is the rest of me
So now I'm convinced I cannot see
See this soul
Or what's merely left of it
These years have drained
Out the colour and most of it
Is lost to this beast
This beast of pain and misery
And it grits its teeth at the victim, me
This dagger formed heart
This corrupted mind
What I've become
This war has to come to an end
With each passing day
I undergo trails of this statement
This is my final effort
What's afloat is the rest of me
So now I'm convinced I am not me
What's afloat is the rest of me
So now I'm convinced I cannot see
Is this worlds intent to tear a being apart?
Trapped beneath these thoughts
Contemplating another breath
Beneath everything and everyone but
No matter how
How far I'd fall
These rays persist all the way through
I've now learned to step
Along this dark broken road
What's afloat is the rest of me
So now I'm convinced I am not me
What's afloat is the rest of me
So now I'm convinced I cannot see
Now I'm at the tail end
What could have been done
What could have been said
I cannot become fodder
To my own world leaving colour
With each passing day
I'm left smiling in pain
This is my final effort
